Each motor control centre incorporates ASTA certified 400A 50KA copper busbars and individual sections for each item of plant complete with its own individual isolator.

The control of each air handling unit facilitated auto change-over on duty fan failure, duty rotation on a weekly basis, full heat recovery control utilising a LPHW frost coil, LPHW re-heater battery, a pumped run around circuit and a cooling coil with full plant status monitoring.

The operating theatre air handling unit controls also included humidity control with full integration with remote surgeons panels and control of individual room re-heater batteries.

A fully networked Satchwell Micronet building management system was supplied and installed complete with a full front end supervisor package including dynamic plant graphics as part of the £22.5m Jubilee Wing Extension to Mayday University Hospital in Croydon.

The building management system controls the ventilation plant and a number of zone and re-heater batteries serving a number of new Wards and three operating theatres.

The ventilation controls were integrated with a remote mounted specialist surgeons panel located in each operating theatre.

A total of three multi cubicle Form 4 motor control centres were custom designed, manufactured and installed to allow maintenance works to be carried out to some items of plant without disrupting essential plant and services.

Field mounted control sensors were manufactured by Satchwell with all control valves, actuators and damper motors manufactured by Belimo.
